About Us

We are a group of scientists from a variety of disciplines working to better understand how stress affects physical and psychological health and to develop novel treatments through our research studies.The Stress and Health Research Program located at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), is always seeking volunteers to participate in clinical trials and other research studies. Current areas of study include sleep, substance abuse, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, gender and aging.
